Volvo started a road test of the XC60 crossover to the next generation. First spy photos of the prototype test new items, made in Amsterdam, published edition Autoevolution.

Crossover will debut in the second half of 2017. It is expected that the SUV will perform in the style of the model XC90 second generation. Judging by the pictures, the novelty will receive headlamps with signature T-shaped daytime running lights, called “Thor’s Hammer”.

The next Volvo XC60 will be built on a modular platform SPA, underlying XC90 as well as S90 sedan and V90 wagon. Thanks to the new chassis, the crossover will get lighter.

The engine range will include three-and four-cylinder engines running on gasoline or diesel. In addition, the crossover will be available with two-liter “four” with the turbine and drive the supercharger with a capacity of 320 horsepower. The top version will get a hybrid powerplant, which will consist of the same four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. Total return units will be about 400 horsepower.
