The village was turned into ruins.
Prosperous before the war, the village of Sands Donetsk region with the arrival of the Russian invaders in 2014, depopulated and turned into the gloomy ruins.
This is evidenced by photos that made the Sands famous Ukrainian gymnast, volunteer Nadezhda Vasina.

On one of the photos shows burned-out skeleton of the armored APU, a fluttering flag of Ukraine. Visible in the frame funeral wreaths and the inscription “They gave their lives for Ukraine”.
