Minsk stalled

Why Western countries are not worried about this? Why do they persist in saying that the Minsk agreement must be implemented, and even introduced for its refusal to do what is necessary to do to Kiev, the Western world sanctions? And tedious renewing them year after year?
Russian diplomats sometimes say that Merkel, Hollande and diplomats are probably just didn’t read the text of the Minsk agreement, and often try to explain it to them, I quote the relevant paragraphs, fully proving the correctness of Moscow’s position.

Old problem
What is this new or old phenomenon? Russia do not respect now? Alas, so it was in Soviet times, in the times of the Russian Empire – always. The USSR swallowed “the bait” in the form of détente, having largely depreciated its questionable economic benefits of the amendment of Jackson-Vanik, which exists now in the form of the Magnitsky Act. The Soviet Union signed the 1975 Helsinki final act, “which guaranteed” the inviolability of borders in postwar Europe that very soon became not only the Eastern bloc, the Warsaw Pact and the USSR, parts of which already are members of NATO and beg for American troops to further pressure on Russia.
Another example? Certainly, it was probably the worst. The Anglo-Russian agreement of 1907 allowed formally to end almost won Russia’s “Big game” (the congresses of Russian revolutionaries became uncomfortable to hold in London, they reduced subsidies to deceive Saint Petersburg and force him to believe in their goodwill, which was not in sight). So, after 7 years to push Russia and Germany in the First world war to destroy both empires, afraid to weaken both countries, turning them into an object of geopolitical intrigue and economic penetration, creating the preconditions for a new massacre…
Enough of examples. What unites all these cases? The fundamental unwillingness of partners to carry out its part of the bargain: negotiating compromises they hope that their part of the bargain will only be able to Russia, their own obligations, they are absolutely not concerned. Moreover, know that it is not hit in this regard, the finger, which on their part is pure deception.
Not to trust the West
Why? Quite simply, Americans and Europeans don’t view their Russian counterparts as equals and believe that any promise they can easily be broken. Why so happens: is the deal, Moscow performs their agreement, Washington and Brussels – no. The conflict continues. Demands to end with him lead to a new diplomatic deal: Moscow is once again fulfill the promise of the West – again no. So he gradually comes to his goal in each case.
Disciplined Western politicians just so rare in Russian history a political figure, Stalin. With him, no matter what, they were considered more than with someone else, and Churchill even automatically stood up, although he always ordered myself not to do it when the Soviet leader came into the room where the lounging, Smoking their cigars, drinking their cognac.
Recognized Western policy towards Russia down as to natives, obligations to which gentlemen can not perform? Not often. But there are such examples. Thus, former national security Advisor to U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Zbigniew Brzezinski, in conversation with philosopher and political scientist Aleksandr Dugin in response to the question of why the West has not fulfilled a lot of promises to ex-Soviet leader Gorbachev, the collapse under them and other countries of Eastern Europe, gladly admitted: “We tricked him”.

“Now the goal should be finding balance between the interests of the parties. And no one should declare victory. Russian response

Despite the fact that two the only ally of Russia is her army and Navy – are on the rise and cause genuine fear of rivals, there is a good chance that Moscow will again begin to listen. And if not respect – what not to demand from the representatives of other cultures and civilizations – that would be afraid to treat reached with Russia agreements as scraps of paper after a couple of hours after their conclusion.
