Electric bath
In the early 1900s, electric baths were all the rage among leading a healthy lifestyle. They were so popular that a bath even installed on Board the “Titanic”. Women are allowed to use it in the morning, and men could lie in it after lunch or in the evening. Opium
On Board the “Titanic” had four crates of opium. In 1912, the US Congress had banned opium, but it remained a common ingredient of various medicines. The owner of the painting, a Swedish entrepreneur Moritz Hakon Bjornstrom-Steffansson, survived a shipwreck and filed to the insurance company for reimbursement of loss paintings worth 100 thousand dollars. Today it would be $ 2.4 million.
Machine for making marmalade
To make the marmalade, it was necessary to accurately cut the skin of fruit. Many who put the marmalade in the early 1900s, used a special typewriter. The owner of this machine, was on Board the “Titanic”, was 27-year-old Edwina Celia of Trout nicknamed Winnie. She survived the crash. In the rush to sitting in the lifeboat, the girl was forced to abandon a favourite fixture on the ship. After that, she also appealed to the insurance for compensation.

Cat Jenny

The manuscript of the writer Joseph Conrad
“Titanic” was carrying about seven million pieces of mail from England to the United States. In one of those letters was the manuscript of “Karain: a Memory” the famous English writer Joseph Conrad. The manuscript, supplemented by the personal notes of the author, was sent a corporate lawyer from new York John Quinn, who was a collector of original literary manuscripts.
