Udaltsov and Leonid Razvozzhayev were sentenced to 4.5 years in prison.

MP is also known for critical statements against the Russian policy in the Caucasus, reminiscent of the “Novaya Gazeta”. Targamadze, in particular, stated that the Russian peacekeepers in the zones of the Abkhazian and South Ossetian conflicts should be outlawed, since Russia is the aggressive party in these conflicts.

On 8 October in Georgia are scheduled parliamentary elections. The ruling party “Georgian dream” on them make up the opposition “United national movement”.
