Yesterday in Rio de Janeiro ended the 15th summer Paralympic games, which became the most successful in the history of Ukrainian sport.
At the last Paralympics Ukrainian sportsmen broke all national records. Ukraine in Rio won 117 medals, including 41 gold. In the medal standings Ukrainians ahead of only China and the UK.
The disciplines most successful for Ukraine was swimming – 25 gold medals. Four victories Ukrainians had won in athletics, two in table tennis and fencing, and rowing, judo, football 7×7, powerlifting, rowing, track Cycling, shooting and road Cycling our athletes at the same awards.
The ten most prominent athletes of the Paralympic games in Rio de Janeiro included four Ukrainian swimmer Maxime Kripak (5-3-0), Eugene Bogotano (4-3-2), Yelyzaveta Mereshko (4-0-1) and Denis Dubrov (3-3-2).
Ukraine will pay Paralympians 86 million. For comparison, for a modest success at the Olympic games medalists from the state budget 23 million in domestic currency.
