Turkey calls on the EU to introduce visa-free regime

Ankara has threatened to annul the agreement with the EU by the decision of the refugee crisis.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara annul the agreement with the EU by the decision of the refugee crisis, if the Turkish citizens will not receive until October visa-free regime with EU countries.

Cavusoglu stressed that it was “not a threat”, but said the determination of official Ankara. The Turkish government, he said, is waiting on “specific date” of the visa liberalization.

“This could be the beginning or middle of October, however, we expect certain date”, – he explained.

It is known that earlier the EU had planned to cancel the visa before the end of June 2016, but the conflict with Turkey was forced to move time. Then from Ankara demanded to review the laws against terrorism and data protection. Soon Brussels is concerned about curtailing the rights and freedoms after a failed coup.
