Because of the constant human attempts to expand the territory they inhabited, today, many forests are under threat of extinction, but the planet still has forests where no foot of man.
Sinharaja Rain Forest, Sri Lanka.
The largest rain forests of Sri Lanka are considered to be rain forest of Sinharaja, which translates as “the lion king”. In 1978 this place was declared biosphere reserve by UNESCO and since then it has fearlessly inhabits a variety of birds, mammals, butterflies and rare insects. In the forests you can meet such endangered species as the Sri Lankan wood pigeon, ashy-headed babbler, pythons and others.
Maldivskie forest.
Mainly moderate Maldivskie rain forest, the area of which reaches 248,100 square kilometers, located in the territory of Chile and part of Argentina. In these amazing forests a perfect mix of conifers, evergreen plants, ferns, dense bamboo, and a narrow coastal strip and glaciers. Unfortunately, in recent times ecosystem Waldowski forests threatened by mass deforestation.
National Park of EMAS.
National Park of EMAS is between Goias and the States of Mato Grosso and contains flora and fauna typical of the oldest and diverse tropical ecosystems of the earth. The Park is surrounded by many plantations of soybeans and other agricultural areas.
The Monteverde Cloud Forest, Costa Rica.
This forest, located near the eponymous town Montverde, is considered one of the most important tourist attractions of Costa Rica. Its name translates as “green mountain”, and on its territory there are about 30 species of unique birds, humming birds, 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 species of birds among which the Quetzal, a bird, bell and others.
Kinabalu national Park.
This is one of the first national parks in Malaysia, founded in 1964. The woods of this state Park and mount Kinabalu National Park surrounds the highest and the youngest is not a volcanic mountain of Borneo-Kinabalu. The popularity of this forest has brought a large number of existing species of plants and animals. In 2000 the Park was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.
The rain forest of Ecuador.
The rainforest is often called the tropical forest, characterized by constant cloud cover. Leo of Ecuador is a forest, in which the same is situated about 17 percent of all plant species in the world and 20 percent of all birds. Although it is home to many rare animals, among them the spectacled bear, Jaguar, Puma and others, this forest, like other tropical forests, it suffers greatly from the increasing timber felling. If this continues further, then it is possible that a tropical person soon disappear altogether from the face of the earth.
Forest Park Daintree, Australia.
Age Date forest Park, located in Australia, has about 135 million years, and they are considered to be the oldest surviving rainforest in the world. With an area of 2600 square kilometers, Daintree is the largest rainforest in Australia and home to numerous exotic plants and animals. The name of the Daintree forest was named in honor of Australian geologist and photographer Richard Daintree. In 1988, UNESCO declared this area a world heritage site.
The rain forest of the Congo.
This forest got its name from the Congo river flowing through it and is considered the longest river in the world. The area of the rain forest of the Congo is a huge area but due to continuous deforestation, commercial activities and agricultural expansion are becoming more and more fragile ecosystem. Because of continuous hunting of rare animals many of them have already completely disappeared, but apart from the fact that the rain forest of the Congo is the only habitat of pygmy chimpanzees live here as well, Okapi, hippos, gorillas and other animals.
Forest Of The Taiga.
Taiga is the most enormous biome of land in the world, consisting of coniferous forests. Here is concentrated one-third of all trees in the world to have a significant impact on the levels of carbon dioxide. Due to the fact that taiga is located just below the tundra line and gets very little sunlight, it takes about 50 years to from a seed sprouted a small tree. In the forest grows a variety of trees and is home to a wide range of animals.
Forest Of The Amazon.
The Amazon is considered the largest rainforest in the world, because they are extended on the territory of eight countries, such as Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, French Guana, Surinam, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela. The Amazon forest is home to diverse species of plants and animals.
