The Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan, who took office a month ago, told the press that the major and minor repair of Ukrainian roads need to spend no less than a century.
This period of time Omeljan received as a result of counting the total mileage of roads throughout the country and receiving the money in the budget of the Department. He noted that even during the presented period the roads will not look perfect because most of the restored slopes to complete the repair work will have time to break down.
According to the Minister, the infrastructure division receives $ 750 million (more than 19 billion USD) of funding. The length of roads in Ukraine is 170 thousand km, and the Current means will allow to reconstruct only 1% of asphalt concrete pavements.
The Manager also added that now the Ukrainian roads are in a catastrophic state. On the question of journalists about 560 million dollars, which were allocated by IBRD for the repair of highways and field roads, Omeljan not answered.
