Gymnast Oleg Vernaeve brought Ukraine first gold medal at the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
The vernaeve was considered the main favorite in the uneven parallel bars – Ukrainian in qualifying scored 16,000 points and confirmed his great readiness.
Oleg played the sixth – by the time the leadership was held by American Danelly Leyva scored 15,900 points. The vernaeve, despite some minor issues, managed to smash this result 16,041 points!

Medal Oleg Vernaeve has become Ukraine’s sixth in the Brazilian Games. Earlier, Olympic medals were won by Sergey Kulish (silver in shooting), Oleg Verniaiev (silver in gymnastics), women’s national team of Ukraine on fencing sabre (silver), Jean Belenus (silver in Greco-Roman wrestling) and Olga Harlan (bronze in fencing).
