The US agreed with Russia that decisions about the future of Syrian President Bashar Assad must take the Syrians. This was stated by Deputy head of the press service of U.S. state Department mark Toner.
As notes TASS, Toner was asked to comment on the statements of press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov about Syria and Assad. The direct question, whether Washington shares Moscow marked position, Toner replied in the affirmative.
“We believe the political process reflecting the wishes and will of the Syrian people, is what should ultimately determine the future leadership and future government of Syria”, — he explained.
Earlier, the state Department repeatedly called for the immediate resignation of the Syrian President.
