In Baku ended world chess Olympiad in Ukrainian national teams in both categories finished in the top-3.
The men’s team of Ukraine Pavel Eljanov, Ponomariov, Ruslan, Yuri Krivoruchko, Anton Korobov and Andrey Volokitin only on additional indicators lost to team USA. The Ukrainians have won 10 matches and suffered only one defeat.

Women’s team (Anna Muzychuk, Mariya Muzychuk, Natalia Zhukova, Anna Ushenina and Inna Gaponenko-Yanovskaya) started with five consecutive victories, but then shared the points with Russia and lost to China. The victory was won by players from China, and Ukrainka additional indicator lost to Poland

Ukrainians have repeatedly won at the world chess Olympiad in 2004 and 2010 was the first men, and in 2006 their first and only victory of the women.
