The U.S. is considering imposing sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation in Syria.
The US administration is studying other variants of sanctions against Russia in response to Russia’s recent actions in Syria, said Monday at a press briefing, White house spokesman Josh Ernest.
“We have previously acknowledged, I’ve acknowledged before, that the set of measures available to US, includes the sanctions that have proved to be increasingly effective and powerful way”, – he told, answering a journalist’s question regarding the possibility of sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation around Aleppo.
“The President (Barack Obama – if) considering various options, and his national security team regularly provides him more information about the options that are available. On this topic they will talk in the following days, more often, given the fact that the US is no longer involved in the negotiations with Russia on Syria – Interfax)”, – he added.
When Ernest admitted that the sanctions have not yet forced Russia to change its policy on Ukraine.
