The times in a panic: Russian journalists threaten the UK

"Таймс" в панике: российские журналисты угрожают Великобритании

The end of July was marked by the aggravation of the situation on the fronts of the information war of the West against Russia. The fact that journalists, perhaps, the largest and most well-known newspaper in the UK “The Times” , together with the American colleagues of “The New York Times” over the past three days burst out turn articles straight from eight pieces, throw mud at our country. Anti-Russian propaganda has long been no surprise, but the current hysteria is special. Texts of the articles are striking in their stupidity, primitiveness and ridiculousness. Let’s look at some of them.+

Balancing act miracles of anti-Russian hysteria of the West

July 30, the American newspaper “The New York Times in the article “Russian TV channel shows the wonders of balancing act in covering the election campaign in the United States” writes:

“Russia suspected of involvement in the leak of stolen emails of the National Committee of the Democratic party that is widely perceived as an attempt to interfere in presidential elections in America.”
The New York Times30 July 2016

Unfounded accusations against Russia – already a common practice, allowing to manipulate public opinion. One of the most authoritative American publications demonstrates the one-sidedness of the coverage of events and give a voice to only one side of the process, introducing her (or rather, their) opinion as the one and only. Claiming that Russia is suspected of involvement in the leak of stolen emails, the author does not specify who is idea and does not the opposite opinion of American experts. I suspect – and all! Because of this, untrained readers the impression that the suspect, if not all, certainly most of American experts and politicians.

And just funny to read about Russia’s intervention in US policy from the representatives of the country, which like no other is constantly interfering in the internal Affairs of other States, participates in regime change, coups and color revolutions. Who’s newspaper was calling the kettle black.

However, the British colleagues managed to perekatat American pseudo-propagandists in the anti-Russian courage. From July 30 to August 1, a large edition of “The Times” published 7 (!) articles with hysteria about the onset of Russian propaganda in a free Britain. Here are the most striking quotes from these specimens of the modern Western propaganda, and you admire the “beauty” of language, worthy of the pen some svidomo speaker.

The first fruit of the collective work of the British journalists:

“Vladimir Putin is governed not only by Russia, its territory and citizens, but also the alternative reality in which black becomes white, night becomes day, and good bad”.
The Times, “the Information war of Putin”30 Jul 2016

Indeed, if you are in Russia, looks out the window and see that the street day, make no mistake – there are actually night but that Putin warned you that day. And Vice versa. After the Russian President ruled not only citizens, but also alternate reality. But in a reality and after a dose of any substance is written in the British journalists such gems can only guess.

In another article with a truly Bolshevik appeal in the title “We must take measures against Putin’s machine of lies”, the author writes:

“Authoritarian States are now deciding their foreign policy objectives, using the media”.
The Times, “We must take measures against Putin’s machine of lies”

In principle, if, under the authoritarian state the author means the USA, with it it is possible to agree. Or there:

“Often broadcast on RT appear neo-Nazis and racists”.
The Times, “We must take measures against Putin’s machine of lies”

Yes, the Russian TV channel tries to show the world and especially the West a threat to the Ukrainian Nazis, which he created, and so doesn’t want to admit that Nazi symbols on the uniforms of soldiers trying to destroy the population of DND and LNR, marches Bandera ignorant, hatred of the “foreigners” and other delights of modern Ukraine. But the fight against Nazism is not commendable in a democratic society? It turns out that there is. The author explains that there is freedom of speech (Western propaganda), and there is a cacophony (Russian media):

“Western society value freedom of expression, so often believe these propaganda attempts just another noise among the cacophony of voices.”
The Times, “We must take measures against Putin’s machine of lies”

The question arises: if Western society is so appreciated freedom of expression, identity, pluralism, diversity of media, so why is this reporter, a representative and apologist of Western society throws mud Russian media, showing an alternative point of view on certain events in the world? Hitch.

Next opus “The Times” was published under the title – try to guess – “Putin’s propaganda distorts the thinking of Western viewers”. A variation of the titles is striking and proves the breadth of thinking of the authors of the newspaper. In particular, a major fight with Russia – Dominic Kennedy. So he hits the alarm, urging Britons not to see the hated Russian propaganda and thereby recognizing the higher efficiency of Russia Today:

“Those who only watched RT, were significantly more hostile attitude to the position of Western countries. However, this effect is reduced if the volunteer was also given to watch the BBC”.
The Times, “Putin’s propaganda distorts the thinking of Western viewers to”1 August 2016

Kennedy does not even understand that the best praise editor-in-chief of TV channel Margarita Simonyan is hard to imagine. As for the wonder-working means against the RT as the only right channel of the BBC, it is also a song – it turns out, the media perceived a freelance British journalist as any psychotropic substance, and not a platform for expressing various opinions. As to the word, and Western information policy.

“In the US, many of the congressmen say that the state radio station “Voice of America” should more reflect the foreign policy of the United States”.
The Times, “Putin’s propaganda distorts the thinking of Western viewers to”1 August 2016

And how hateful and unacceptable to a free Western society, the politicization of the media? In fact, clever Kennedy criticizes the Russian RT TV channel for political engagement and at the same time calling to the radio station “Voice of America” to increase this bias. Bravo.

In the article “the Kremlin is using new means to sow discord in the heart of the United Kingdom” vigilant Dominic Kennedy is angry already about the referendum in Scotland:

“Statement of the information Agency Sputnik that the results of the referendum in Scotland was rigged – part of a long-term plan. They (Agency staff – approx. edition) came from Russia to observe the referendum on Scottish independence and stated that his results were falsified, reinforcing his assertion completely unbelievable arguments”.
The Times, “the Kremlin is using new means to sow discord in the heart of the United Kingdom”July 30, 2016

Wait, Kennedy tells us, it’s just not right to accuse the Western States of dishonesty counting! Only their media, politicians and experts have the honorary right to constantly terrorize the whole world not to recognize the results of elections and referendums. And here suddenly the representatives of Russia dared to accuse this sin of democracy Britain itself! Disorder. The exclusive right of the West to the non-recognition of political processes is disturbed.

In the course of the information hysteria got, of course, Russian athletes – they are in the last days was the main target for the American and European media-killers.

The British newspaper “The Times” initiated a collective appeal of British athletes and personalities of the sport to the International Olympic Committee to ban the entire Russian national team to participate in the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. Editorial material under the title “Suspend Russia from playing games in Rio,” was published in the online version of the newspaper. As the newspaper notes, their signatures to this initiative has delivered more than 65 athletes.

“We ask you to dismiss the entire Russian team from the Olympic games 2016 in Rio”, — the statement says the British newspaper.

Not only they collective responsibility of the athletics Federation due to violations of individual athletes, so decided to go ahead. Probably, in case of removal from the Olympics, all the Russian athletes these hacks would still be unhappy and something would come up.

The Bureau Sputnik has a gun

Looking at all this madness, the question arises, what is so terrible made Russia the other day that British and American media were given a volley of hysterical articles with the main refrain – “the Russians are coming!”. Shot down by British aircraft over Syria? Declared war on great Britain? Released in London and Washington a series of “Topol-M”? Not at all. The fact is that the capital is still dependent on London Scotland Edinburgh started a Bureau of the news Agency “Sputnik“. It was perceived by the “free world” almost as troops “polite people”.

“In the United Kingdom the main purpose of Russian was Edinburgh, where it was decided to open a Bureau Sputnik. Settled in the city, is a news Agency started to publish articles where it was suggested that the reason for the murder of a member of Parliament from the labour party, Joe Cox was a conspiracy of supporters of the European Union, thereby attempting to influence the outcome of the referendum”.
The Times, “Putin is against the United Kingdom propaganda war”30 Jul 2016

It would seem that it is a natural phenomenon for the modern world in the context of globalization, information, pluralism, media freedom, but Western “svobodnuy” so scared of this that had a massive seizure. Just think, in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Ekaterinburg and other Russian cities opened the offices of many major news agencies and TV channels, and no one does this terrible story about the attack of Western propaganda. Anglo-Saxon media occupy a dominant position in the global information space, and one office of the Russian Agency cannot break this dominance.

But it is not only in the emergence of “Satellite” in Edinburgh. In the West all the forces trying to maintain the image of Russia-the enemy, watching as growing public dissatisfaction with the state of Affairs and how every year close to power anti-American political forces. Thus, those in power through the controlled media are trying to play anti-Russian card to strengthen his position.

Politrussia.com
At the same time there was a real fear of Western media-killers before the advent of the Russian media, the supply of alternative information and is able to effectively compete with leading Western editions.

Looking at the aforementioned article, outrageously funny and absurd, their fear can be understood. In the West, many are tired of the domination of one point of view, not contrary to the official policy, therefore happy to follow the alternative channels. In turn, the study of different views promotes critical thinking, which is very complicate the manipulation of public consciousness and unstructured management of people through the media.

The Deputy head of the Duma Committee on information policy, information technologies and communications Vadim Denikin (liberal democratic party) sees such hysteria is a good sign – our media earned in Europe credibility:

"Таймс" в панике: российские журналисты угрожают Великобритании

Here you can only be happy for our media: when you say some nasty things, then they deserve unsaturated respect, and the content that they produce, makes this to be considered.

Vadim Denikin

In this connection the question arises: whether not too we overestimate the informational power of the West, calling them the heirs of Goebbels? Yes they seem to have the usual clowns who keep the idiots out their vast audience of readers. Leading British and American Newspapers, with a century of history use increasingly primitive methods of manipulation of public opinion, support the policy of double standards of governments and trying to denigrate the Russian colleagues for an alternative point of view. All this demonstrates, rather, their weakness and helplessness.

On the other hand, what is happening speaks to the coordinated work of domestic media. Russia is not afraid of Western propaganda, it is eagerly citing the example, but none of the foreign media still cannot compete with Russian in the eyes of the audience. And judging by the hysteria of The Times, they do see in the opening of the Bureau “Sputnik” in Edinburgh at the end of their information monopoly.
