The government of the Russian Federation in the state Duma introduced a bill to expand the economic zone of the Crimea at the expense of the territorial sea of the Russian Federation.
The bill proposes to include part of the territory of the free economic zone, internal sea waters and territorial sea of the Russian Federation along the coastal line of the Peninsula.
As noted in the explanatory note to the draft, it is necessary to enable the use of the vehicles placed under the customs procedure of free customs zone, in the internal sea waters and territorial sea of the Russian Federation, as well as the development of transport infrastructure of yacht tourism and sailing, the organization of passenger transportation, creation of additional jobs.
We will note, now in the economic zone includes the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, which a special regime of entrepreneurial and other activities, but also applied the customs procedure of free customs zone.
The current agreement does not allow, for example, use in the territorial sea of the Russian Federation along the Peninsula ships, placed under the customs procedure of free customs zone, as the internal Maritime waters and the territorial sea are not part of the free economic zone.
