Romania responded to Putin’s threats.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Romania regards as a threat to regional security the position of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the deployment on the territory of Romania of elements of missile defense.
“The position of President of the Russian Federation testifies to the ignorance of the real situation, which stated as Romania and NATO allies: anti-missile system in Romania is purely defensive in nature. This position can be regarded as a threat to regional security”, – reads the statement of the foreign Ministry of the country, reports UKRINFORM.
The foreign Ministry stressed that the missile shield at Deveselu base is defensive, and it was built in accordance with the provisions of the UN Charter.
NV earlier reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Greece has threatened Romania for missile defense. He said that missile defense installations in Romania can be placed strike complexes, it is enough just to change the software.
