Athletes exhaled, the fans are happy, smiling officials of the Russian Olympic team going to the Olympics in Rio!
Nerves battered us and took a decision, which has been interpreted as allowing “clean” athletes to defend the honor of the country at the Olympics. In essence the IOC just threw the responsibility for decision-making at the international sports Federation of each sport. Now is not the IOC, but thousands of other sports officials will decide which of our athletes will participate and who is not. Responsibility is blurred, to convict someone of bias is difficult, and to spread mass media with the resonance more difficult. Thus, the Russian Olympic Committee was pulled into a corrupt bureaucratic bog from which it is very difficult to come out with flying colours. And the scenario that I proposed earlier won’t work.
Why did this happen? Where we watched our officials? Hoped for? What is their logic?
