The Crimean Prosecutor’s office reminded motorists of responsibility for untimely replacement of the Ukrainian car numbers in Russian, the term of which expires on 1 April. This is stated in the statement on the website of the Supervisory authority.
As noted in Prosecutor’s office, a significant number of car owners, as fizicheskih and legal persons still not re-registered their vehicles. Against such violators from 1 April will be a verbal warning.
If these offenders and will never change my license plates, they will be brought to administrative liability. Pursuant to part 1 of article 12.1 of the administrative code of the Russian Federation (“management of the vehicle is not registered in the prescribed manner”) so motorists face a fine in the amount from 500 to 800 rubles. At repeated violation the fine is increased to 5 thousand rubles, with a guilty face suspension of driving privileges for a period of 1 to 3 months.
In the middle of February the Supreme court rejected the claim with the requirement to allow the inhabitant of the Crimea to leave the Ukrainian license plate, citing the fact that Russia has a law on road safety, which requires motorists to register in the SAI.
Crimean drivers complained to the government decision to the Supreme court on 4 January. The name of the organization appearing before the court by the applicant, is not specified. In the complaint it was stated that on the Peninsula there is a law, which granted Ukraine the documents continue to apply after the occurrence of Crimea in structure of Russia.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 after an overwhelming majority of respondents in the referendum supported the decision. Changing car numbers and driver’s licenses began in April of that year.
