The Committee on the question of impeachment recommended to suspend Dilma Rousseff from office of the President in the case of violation of the budget legislation.
The Committee on the question of impeachment by the Brazilian Senate has recommended the upper house to permanently remove Dilma Rousseff from office of the President in the case of violation of the budget legislation.
“14 members of the Committee of 21 in favor, against – five. They voted on the report of Antonio Anastasia, speaking with accusations against Rousseff and arguments in favor of impeachment”, – stated in the publication.
It is noted that this decision is formally not binding the Senate, but it puts Rousseff closer to final resignation.
Rousseff is accused of hiding the true size of the budget deficit of the country in order to increase public spending. Itself the former President categorically rejects the accusations and believes the case is politically motivated.
In may, the Brazilian Senate voted to start the impeachment of Rousseff and immediate removal from office.
August 9, according to the report, Anastasia will vote all of the upper house, and then begin the final stage of the impeachment process. As expected, the final fate of Dilma Rousseff will decide in late August – early September.
