Film-nominee from Ukraine will be named on September 9.
The Ukrainian Oscar Committee has finished accepting applications for participation in the contest for the nomination for the award “Oscar” in the category “Best foreign language film”, according to the website of the state. Applications for participation in competition are three films: “the nest of the turtledove” Taras Tkachenko “Song of songs” Eva Neumann and “Ukrainian sheriffs” by Roman Bondarchuk.
Film-nominee from Ukraine will be announced on 9 September. “We are pleased that the Ukrainian Oscar Committee not just regained his job, but received the referral of the tape, the quality level which demonstrates true competition among Ukrainian filmmakers in the fight for the most prestigious professional movie awards”, said the head of Goskino Philip Ilyenko.
National Oscar committees may nominate candidates for the award “Oscar” in the category “Best foreign language film”. In 2015, Ukraine failed to submit a contender for the award, because our country has not been approved by the Oscar Committee, which was reformed after the withdrawal of four members. Last year on “Oscar” in the category “Best documentary” was nominated film about the events of the revolution of dignity “Winter lights”.
