Ukraine wants to expand cooperation with the United States in the production of weapons.
As stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly, Ukraine is not only waiting for help from the United States in terms of supply of lethal weapons, but also plans to start production together with the Americans, reports Joinfo.ua.
According to him, Ukraine has decided to change the approach – not to wait for the weapons, it is better to engage in its production.
“The official position of the White house – they’re not talking about lethal weapons, and we, frankly, now a few have also changed the approach. To produce a lethal weapon we can and in Ukraine. Now, not only our army during these two years became stronger, you know from scratch, and now one of the most effective and efficient in Europe. Also the military-industrial complex,” he said.
According to Chaly, Ukraine now seeks to deepen its cooperation with the United States in joint weapons production.
“We’re talking about how to deepen cooperation with the United States in joint weapons production, that is, at joint actions in this sector. It is much more important is the strategic direction. Delivery – it would be very symbolic and serious signal, but President Obama and the government are giving in other ways this signal of support,” – said the Ambassador.
Previously Chaly has said that Ukraine plans to produce jointly with the US launch of a space rocket.
Recall that President Poroshenko will meet with Obama in Warsaw and Kerry in Kiev.
