History knows several of such terrible occasions.
Board 370 Malaysia Airlines 8 March 2014 disappeared from all radar screens and vanished in the air. He searches are conducted continuously, and only recently first results have appeared, which, however, did not give the answer to the question – what happened to the plane.
If you look at the history of aviation, we can find no similar case where the Board along with passengers are also missing. We counted at least 9 episodes of the mysterious disappearance of the aircraft and, following the chronology of events, tried to figure out what with them happened.

May 20, 1937 on the plane, donated by the University, the American writer and Aviator Amelia Earhart, along with Navigator Fred Noonan went to fly around the world. By early July, they successfully overcame about 80% of the route. The plane was heading to Howland island to refuel, when suddenly the volatile radio communication with the aircraft was lost. In the last message, Earhart said he did not see the island. Under the assumptions of the rescue teams, the plane ran out of fuel and fell into the Pacific ocean. For the 2nd week ships and 66 aircraft searched 220,000 square miles of water surface. To find the Board failed. It is supposed that its fragments were found in the area of the Atoll Nickumaroro in may 2013 as a result of scanning sonar.

In the Bermuda triangle lost a lot of planes, and the two Board a British South American Airways — one of them. Still both aircraft are missing. In 2009, one of the BBC journalists tried to find out the reasons for their disappearance and conducted an investigation. In his opinion, both aircraft crashed into the water and you can find them somewhere in the depths of the ocean. The reason was a technical failure in one case and the lack of fuel in the other.

However, the crash site was accidentally discovered by hikers in October 2008. Cause of accident experts named a strong wind and a powerful downdraft of air, which, in their estimation, was hit by a plane.

The plane took off on 31 may from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. After 3.5-4 hours communication with the aircraft was lost. Immediately the next day search and rescue team began looking.
