The hackers stopped attacking Russian banks

From April 2016, the hackers did not conduct any attack on the correspondent accounts of Russian banks. On Monday, August 15, Rambler News Service reported in a press-service of the Central Bank of Russia.

Thus from September 2015 to March 2016, the Russian banks have suffered cyber attacks 21 times. In total, the hackers tried to steal 2,87 billion rubles, the theft of 1.6 billion rubles was prevented. After cyber-attacks by law enforcement agencies was initiated 12 criminal cases.

At the moment the Central Bank in conjunction with law enforcement and credit-financial sphere is discussing possible changes to the Criminal code of Russia.

Their need was discussed during a meeting of the heads of the largest banks with the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev which took place on 3 June. During the event, with the participation of the Chairman of the government, discussed the cyber security of the banking system. The meeting participants agreed that the Russian administrative and criminal law in this area obsolete.

In June, the FSB, jointly with the interior Ministry and National guard detained the hackers who stole 1.7 billion rubles from the Russian financial organizations. All were arrested about 50 people, 18 of them were arrested, three were released under recognizance not to leave.
