The Greek Parliament approved a law on new measures of austerity.
The Greek Parliament on the eve of the Eurogroup meeting, which will be held on may 24, voted to establish a new Fund for managing funds received from privatization of state property and increasing a number of taxes, from collecting the government until 2018 expects to receive an additional 1.8 billion euros.
It is noted that during the meeting of the Parliament against unpopular decisions under its walls was a protest of hundreds of people. Nevertheless, the MPs has taken the decision to raise from June 1 the VAT rate from 23% to 24%, the tax increase on fuel, tobacco, Internet and real estate.
For the corresponding bill voted 153 MPs from the government bloc Coalition in the 300-seat unicameral Parliament.
