Official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova believes that a return to the relations between Russia and the EU will not be in principle.
She made this statement, commenting on the statement by the EU high representative for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini. According to Mogherini, “the return to the relations in the mode of business as usual (business as usual – approx. ed.)” will not be until Russia “will not respect its international obligations”.
“Business as usual. It will not “until Russia…”, and in principle,” wrote Ms. Zakharova in Facebook.
“International obligations. What “its international obligations” does not respect Russia? If not the Minsk agreements, which she initiated and which are weekly calls run, addressing these appeals Kievan signatories and their sponsors, including from the EU?”,- she wrote.
Zakharova also responded to accusations that Russia allegedly does not comply with international law. “When Russia does not respect international law? Zakharova also described as absurd the conditions of Russia’s return to “big eight”, is reported on the Russian MFA website.
“The absurdity of such a question is obvious. The activities of the “group of eight” ceased at the request of our Western partners embarked on the path searching means of unilateral pressure on Russia in relation to them provoked the deepest crisis in Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
