The former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili with the necessary resources to be able to run in Ukraine a successful political project and pass in the Parliament. About it “lente.ru” on Friday, November 11, said the political scientist Simon Uralov.
“I think that in two years he had enough money to run independent political project. Also during this time, his people are deeply integrated into the ruling elite and, most importantly, in the security forces,” said Uralov.
According to him, the former Governor has a chance to use the frustration of the Ukrainians in the ruling elites and attract the anti-Russian voters.
Earlier that day, Saakashvili announced the creation of his own political party and the intention to seek early parliamentary elections. “Our goal is to change the so-called political elite — and in fact the drug dealers and the dregs of society, who control Parliament, the Cabinet and all branches of power in Ukraine”, — said the politician.
Two days earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has dismissed Saakashvili from the post of Chairman of the Odessa regional state administration. Other decree the head of state took the former head of region from a post of his freelance adviser.
Saakashvili announced his resignation on 7 November. According to him, it is difficult to correct the situation in one region, when in Ukraine continues to be dominated by corrupt officials who “kapitalisiert the blood of the soldiers, the victims of the Maidan.”
