According to foreign media reports, the court heard the case on illegal transfer of Qatar of secret documents.
Morsi was convicted in the leadership of the illegal organization and the theft of secret documents.
However, the investigation failed to prove that Morsi personally handed Qatar the secret data.
Six other defendants in the case were found guilty of espionage and sentenced to death. Among them two employees of the TV channel “al Jazeera”.
Convicts have the right to appeal the sentence.
