Sanctions against North Korea expanded.
The Council of the European Union adopted additional restrictive measures against North Korea in connection with nuclear and missile tests by Pyongyang.
It is noted that the EU decided to expand its restrictive measures against programmes of the DPRK in the nuclear industry and in the areas of weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.
In trade prohibits import of petroleum products and luxury goods from North Korea, a ban on the supply, sale or transfer to the DPRK of items, materials, additional equipment associated with objects and dual-use technologies, as well as ban any public financial support for trade with the DPRK.
In the financial sector prohibits transfers of funds to North Korea from the country except in some special cases that have received prior authorization.
Banning all investments of the DPRK in the European Union. Declared a ban on investments of nationals or of EU institutions in the sectors of extractive industry, oil refining, chemical industry, and any company or organization involved in the illegal programs of the DPRK.
The EU Council regulation prohibits throughout the EU the landing, taking off or flying any aircraft operated by the carrier, Korea or originating from Korea. Introduced a ban on port calls in the EU any vehicle owned or operated by the DPRK, or North Korea with the crew.
Earlier, the South Korean government has expanded the list of sanctions against North Korea in response to nuclear tests by Pyongyang and launch long-range missiles.
