The European Union and NATO signed a Declaration on enhancing cooperation

Head of the European Union and NATO at the summit in Warsaw signed a Declaration on enhancing cooperation on security in Europe.

“Today the Euro-Atlantic community is facing unprecedented challenges emanating from the South and East. Our citizens demand that we use all available ways and means to confront these challenges, and thus to strengthen their safety”, – stated in the Declaration.

The document also refers to the need to increase “efforts and find new ways for the security of NATO and the EU in light of the General threats”.

“A stronger NATO and a stronger EU mutually reinforce each other, today we can better provide for security in Europe and beyond,” reads the Declaration.

NATO and the EU undertake in a coordinated manner to support the military industry and to conduct joint exercises, including in countering hybrid threats.”

“This historic decision will allow us to collaborate more closely than ever. Together we are a powerful force that has all the tools to protect our citizens,” – said after signing the document, genset NATO Jens Stoltenberg.
