Preliminary tests of a sniper rifle “Accuracy” for the Ministry of defense of Russia was postponed until 2017. On Tuesday, August 16, TASS said CEO have developed a rifle of the Central research Institute of precision engineering (TSNIITOCHMASH) Dmitry Semizorov.

“Requirements of the Ministry of defense to his complex was a bit more complicated from the point of view of technology and the need to use this weapon only domestic components and materials. Accordingly, the time the customer has moved, we are still in the schedule, and talk about the release of the preliminary test will be in 2017,” he said.

Semizarov recalled that the rifle was developed in two versions — for the military and for the Federal guard service (FSO). State tests of weapons to FSO was completed successfully, it is currently anticipated the government resolution on the adoption of it for supply.

Sniper rifle “Accuracy” was presented at the forum “Army-2015”. Then Dmitry Semizorov said that the new weapon has a new caliber 7,62×51 mm and created by the company “Orsis”.

On the development of the rifle “Accuracy” was first reported in late 2013. In December 2014 Semizarov already stated that rifle is developed based on engage targets at ranges up to 1.5 kilometers. To ensure the required accuracy at this range as ammunition rifles were considered the cartridges 7,62×51 NATO (for medium distances) and 8 6х70 Lapua Magnum (for the ultimate).
