MOSCOW, September 20. /TASS/. In voting for the selection of characters for the new banknotes leaders escaped the monument to the scuttled ships and Chersonesos in Sevastopol, the message of Bank of Russia.
The total number of voters in the final stage of selection of characters for the new banknotes amounted to 1 200 395 people.
The struggle for leadership is already among the six cities, and the first and sixth place is shared by only 11,000 votes. The voting continue to change leaders. So, in first place came the monument to the scuttled ships and Chersonesos in Sevastopol (143 865 votes), Kazan Kremlin and Kazan (Volga region) Federal University has risen to second place (141 319 votes).
Recent leader Volgograd — Mamaev Kurgan, went down to the third place (140 925 votes), the fourth there are symbols of Sochi (137 534 votes) —Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, the Olympic stadium “Fisht” and the resort “Rosa Khutor”.

A nationwide selection of characters for the new banknotes of 200 and 2000 rubles was initiated by the Bank of Russia. For the first time in the history of the country, Russians will be able to pick and choose what should be shown on the new banknotes. The selection is in three stages and will end October 7, 2016. This day will be declared the winners.
