Most of this amount ($10 billion) will go to the owners of diesel cars with an engine capacity of two liters, on which the software was installed that has misled the tests for measuring emissions. The rest will be used for programs to minimize damage from excessive emissions and the development of projects of clean transportation, according to Reuters.

Recall that Volkswagen has announced the reduction of expenses by ten percent in 2017. These are the consequences “diesel scandal”. He 2015 Volkswagen finished the financial year with losses amounting to almost €1.6 billion. In July 2016, the company’s CEO Matthias Muller has announced that the company will not pay compensation to European customers because of the threat of bankruptcy.
