At first glance it seems that someone have blurred images, in order to show how to see the world people with bad eyesight.Actually it’s not even pictures, and oil paintings by South African artist Philip Baarlo.
About his paintings, Philip said, “Although I work in is not a new tradition of landscape painting, my paintings moved away from the standard scenery of nature or urban landscapes. I hope that when you look at them the viewer will have the feeling of their reality. The landscapes will seem to him strangely familiar.
Phillip lives and paints in Riebeek Kasteel, near Cape town. It is perhaps the stunning landscapes of this area lies the mystery and richness of shades and brightness of colors in his works.
Work Barlow create the illusion of blurred photos, as if shot out of focus. Often it depicts fleeting life of the city on a hot day, but does it in a more interesting colour schemes. Using the blur effect, Barlow wants to make the viewer’s imagination to think out the plot. Using the play of light and shadow, he explores the line between between otobrazhenie physical and spiritual. “I hope the world bathed in light, will become more beautiful,” says Phillip.
