Error in Google Maps led to the fact that the Texan was left without a home. Google apologized and belatedly corrected the inaccuracy, according to CNN.
According to the victim Lindsey Diaz, the team of builders at home instead of at a different address, carried her own. It is noted that both buildings look the same, are located in the same city, have the same number but on different streets — Cousteau drive, and Calypso drive.
Diaz said that in 2015 the tornado damaged her home on Calypso drive. Apparently, this fact and misled the workers, who before the demolition have checked all the details: house number, situated at the corner of and caused by tornado damage. The information was correct except the street name, added the victim.
Google said that by mistake both addresses on the map were located in Cousteau drive. The service has eliminated the inaccuracy as soon as I heard about it. The builders have completed the contract. Later they demolished the house that was required.
