French Director Jerome Salle and star of European cinema Lambert Wilson and a representative of the company “UniTrans” in Central and Eastern Europe Joel Chapron arrived in Moscow to present its new adventure strip “Odyssey”, dedicated to the life of the discoverer and Explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. The film leaves in the Russian hire with the support of the TV channel “Moya Planeta” radio Relax FM, and distribution company MVK. Meeting leads Ivan Kudryavtsev, General Director of MVK.

In order to feel a physical connection with the character, the actor lost ten pounds to look more like Cousteau learned to dive and began shooting the film in a normal camera, because Cousteau himself constantly removed. So Wilson made his “film about film” – as it could make him a hero with his team “Calypso”. But his task was not to play Cousteau, Cousteau mimic: Lambert wanted to convey to the audience the feelings, the emotions of the famous Explorer. In the process he realized that the image of Cousteau imprinted in his brain since childhood – playing it, the actor was reproduced in part and their impression.
12:58V film has very few special effects – it was the original desire of the Director.This is a film primarily about family but also about the nature, so it was important to remove a part of scenes on location. The band allowed themselves the use of special effects only in cases, when without them it was impossible to do: for example, what should be removed, did not exist in principle (or could not be found). For example, the scene of the first dip in the Mediterranean sea: in the 1940-ies it was full of fish, but today they almost did not meet, therefore, they were modeled on the computer, because now the Mediterranean sea is almost a desert. Everything else is shooting on location, apart from the episode with the underwater house, it is now just physically there.
13:01Шапрон notes that “the Odyssey” – the biggest release of the French film this year, so he is very pleased that the crew were able to come to the premiere. This is an important moment for Russian-French cultural and cinematic relations and French artists and Russian audiences are still interested in this exchange. Ideologically speaking, the culture won.
