Lesya Tsurenko reached the semi-finals of the Chinese tournament WTA International, with a prize Fund of $250,000.
Tsurenko over the course of the season and struggled with injuries and almost left the top 100 of the WTA rankings. At the US Open Ukrainka for the first time in his career he reached the fourth round, and now broke in the opening semi-final of the past season.
At the start of the match with the 57-th racket of the world Alison Riske, Tsurenko looked worse – she lost four consecutive games, then reduced the gap to a minimum, but in the end the party again lost her serve.
The key point of the second set and the match in General, occurred in the sixth-seventh games. Tsurenko with the score 2:3 won back three break points in the next game made the break and twice successfully defended his serve.
In deciding the fight did not happen – Tsurenko made three breaks and never let the Risk to break points.
In the semi-finals Lesia Tsurenko will have every chance to win – the third racket of Ukraine will play the winner of the match between Victoria Golubich (67th in the WTA rankings) and Anette Kontaveit (129).
