The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina won the second match at a major tournament in Montreal.
For an exit in the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian competed with local tennis player Francoise abanda a, which occupies in the WTA rankings 272-th position. Despite the significant difference in class, the match was very hard – the players had to play a tie-break.
During the first set Svitolina went ahead twice with a break, but immediately after its success at the reception Elina very readily gave his serve. In the tie-break the Ukrainian from the first set-bol took the lead.
On the successful wave Svitolina has tried to develop its advantage in the second set: 17th seeded took 3:1. It seemed that the match outcome decided,
however, Elina began again huge problems on his serve. Four Abanda did break – the tennis player from Canada twice to serve for the set, but missed all their chances. In the tiebreak when the score was 0:3 Svitolina won seven points in a row and secured a place in the third round of the tournament WTA Premier 5.
Next opponent Elina Svitolina in Montreal will become the second racket of the world, Angelique Kerber, who celebrated a comeback victory over the Headed Lucic-Baroni.
