The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina failed to reach the fourth round of the U.S. Open.
After two heavy victories trehmetrovy Svitolina in the third round had to take a serious examination of the strength – tournament grid gave the Ukrainian a chance to get even with Petra Kvitova for the recent crushing defeat in the quarterfinals of the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
At the start of the match, the players exchanged breaks – when the score was 2:2 Kvitova again got the flow of Svitolina and was able to break away. In the ninth game Elina made a set-bol and was unable to prolong the suspense in the starting party.
In the second set all went to another inglorious defeat Svitolina from two-time champion of Wimbledon. Ukrainka lost 0:4, but found the strength for a comeback, and Kvitova too early believed in a victory, giving the opponent multiple games.
With the score 4:4 Czech recovered and dry defended his serve. Unfortunately, Svitolina in the same coin could not answer. At the moment Elina made a few unforced errors and made their way to the U.S. Open.
To reach the third round of the us major Elina Svitolina earned 140 thousand dollars in prize money, and defended her 130 ranking points.
