Adventure drama Alejandro gonzález iñárritu’s “Survivor” won the prize for best film of the year award at the Empire Awards, which were presented in London on 20 March. About it reports Variety.
Another winner of the ceremony was the new series of the franchise “Star wars.” “The force awakening” won five prizes in the categories “Best Director” (J. J. Abrams), “Best fiction film”, “Best visual effects”, “Best new actor” (John Boyega) and “Best new actress” (Daisy Ridley).
Four awards were given to the blockbuster “Mad Max: fury Road”, which won in the categories “Best soundtrack”, “Best costume design”, “Best production designer” and “Best makeup and hairstyles”.
Matt Damon was named best actor for his role in “the Martian”. Best actress was Alicia vikander, was awarded for the film “Girl from Denmark”. Two awards went to the film “007: Spectrum”, named best Thriller and best British film.
For the best screenplay was awarded to the drama “shorting”. “Puzzle” was the best animated film, while “Amy” is the best documentary of the year. The prize for best Comedy was awarded to the creators of the film “Spy”, and for best horror movie — the authors of “Out of darkness”.
The honorary Empire prize Legend was posthumously awarded the actor Alan Rickman, who died on January 14.
Empire Awards have been awarded for the twentieth time. Winners in all categories, except for three special prizes for contribution to cinema, is determined by a vote of readers of British movie magazine Empire.
