The Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation proposed to create a special Fund to provide food aid to needy Russians. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the materials of the Ministry to the meeting in the Federation Council.
According to the Institute of social analysis and forecasting Ranhigs under the President of the Russian Federation in February 2016 for the first time in eight years, more than half of Russians occurred in the food products. According to Rosstat, by the end of 2015 the number of poor in Russia increased by 3.1 million to 19.2 million people, while the poverty rate rose to 13.4% (from 11.2% in 2014).
