Every angler on the river is their favorite destination. Someone who likes rifts, someone who specializes in pits. Anyone interested to fish for asps with sandy or rocky spits, and someone feeds and catch fish in quiet pools. I also have a characteristic the place where I most often find the fish, even in winter. I want to talk about fishing for sand spits.
For some time I specifically began to try to fish for even spits on an unfamiliar stretch of river. The main difficulty is that the braid under the ice is not visible. One such place on the don worked for several years in a row. We came there almost the entire month of January. And on Akhtuba one typical place over the Bank literally came to my rescue. It was in the village Selitrennoe. My friends and I celebrated the New year on the fishing base and, of course, was fishing nearby. In principle, these places were familiar to me. I fished there from a boat. But here’s the thing! When ice grabbed the Akhtuba, remote cordon became unavailable. I had to find the fish within walking distance. I immediately went to where the ice was thicker, that is, a braid, and no mistake. I noticed that those anglers who fish in winter, stationary rods (and the cargo hooks or jigs on leads), are not distinguished by catch. I mean catching it on low for braids in front or behind them. There is another feature – the change of water level.
