Nikolic is trying to bring Serbia into the EU, but the anti-Russian sanctions not going to enter.
Serbia will not impose sanctions against Russia, despite the efforts of the European Union, stated President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic during the meeting with the Vice-President of the USA Joe Biden.
“We connected with Russia, we are affiliated with USA, in which lives a large Serbian community. We were allies in two wars”, – quotes the words of the Serbian President’s press service.
Nikolic stressed that Serbia seeks to join the EU and she is now a candidate for accession.
We will remind, on 21 June, the European Union supported the extension of sanctions against Russia. Sanctions were imposed in the spring of 2014 after Russia’s annexation of Crimea and aggression in the Donbas.

On 16 August, the day of Biden’s arrival in Belgrade, the Serbian capital have been protests. So, a few hundred ultra-nationalists demanded that Nikolic “to vote for [presidential candidate of the USA Donald] trump,” which, in their view, “support Russia”.
