Beauty is in the “Golden middle”.
German psychologist from Regensburg, lecturer Martin Grundl, conducted an online survey of 60 thousand men and women. They were asked to change the image of a woman on the five parameters until then, until it is, in their opinion, will not be perfect.
In addition, the subjects were arranged in a sort of a virtual beauty contest: ten images of the same woman, retouched on the computer, they had to choose the five most attractive.
With the help of its formula beauty can be measured and checked by mathematical methods, says Grundl. In a complex formula, the value of the attractiveness Y is calculated as follows: Y = b1x1 + b2x2 + … + b13x13 + t. Variables, inter alia, contain the “coefficient of androgenetic”, which includes the waist, hips and chest. The lower it is, the more the bolt has a female figure. A complex formula is necessary because the simple dependence when it comes to beauty, always proved to be wrong, says Grundl. Example – the ratio between waist and hips. Previously, it was often argued that the smaller it is, the better. However low it may be also due to the very wide hips.
Complex formula explains why the extreme values, for example, very large Breasts, not necessarily perceived as beautiful. Once the value goes over the upper limit, in certain parts of the formula it is positive and in others negative. In the end, it determines the proportionality, ‘ says Grundl. On his website the psychologist from Regensburg is the ideal of beauty he received during the Internet poll: a woman with long legs, small waist, medium Breasts and proportional hips.
