In the Alliance the flights of Russian aircraft called “annoying”.
NATO pilots serving in Estonia and Finland, tell about the frequent flights of the Russian Air and space forces (VKS) in the airspace of these States, writes The Washington Post Sunday, November 6.
So, on the night of 6 November in the airspace of Estonia and Finland went at least 13 Russian military aircraft, which was accompanied by NATO planes.
“Pilots often fly about 10 yards from the Russian aircraft, which is close enough to wave my hand, or, as in one of the recent cases to see how the Russian pilot shows middle finger”, – stated in the material.
According to the newspaper, after the arrival to Estonia at the end of August this year the German pilots raised the aircraft on alert 34 times.
“We see that they are constantly trying to challenge and test our system,” – said the Minister of defence of Estonia Hannes Hanso.
NATO officials call the flights of Russian aircraft over the Baltic sea “more annoying than threatening”, but point to the increased risk of incidents in the air.
