Russian driver Aleshin set a double record of Russia in the Arctic

Российский гонщик Алешин установил двойной рекорд России в Заполярье

The first Russian pilot of the American racing series Indy Car driver Mikhail Aleshin set a speed record in the car series GP2 in the Murmansk region.

On the ice of a frozen lake Lovozero it has a top speed 225,98 km/h! On assurances of organizers, this is the first single race on the race car above the Arctic circle. Thus, Mikhail Aleshin claims to double the record for the Guinness book of records.

To achieve the result it took three days of trial races, especially the upgraded racing car and clothing, which protected the rider from the cold.

However, the race car within the Arctic circle have already been in the Finnish Lapland. In spring 2000, Mika Hakkinen was driving the McLaren on a temporary snow route. However, then the session was held at the double version of the machine, the MP4-98Т.
