The Russian defense Ministry is forming a new combined-arms army and 150 motorized rifle division in the South-West. This was stated by the chief of the General staff of the Russian Armed forces army General Valery Gerasimov, Interfax reported.
As noted, the command of these formations were involved in the strategic command-staff exercise Caucasus-2016.
Future 150 division and future control of the army, which this year we formed there – on the South-West direction, their commanders and staffs were involved in the exercises “Caucasus-2016”, – said Gerasimov.
“Although they have not yet formed, are in the formative stage, but they are during the exercises, studied the situation and acted according to their purpose,” – said Gerasimov.
Answering the question of Agency, whether the launch of an Intercontinental ballistic missile “Topol” in the framework of the exercise “Kavkaz-2016” or was it done only within the framework of the command-staff exercises of the strategic missile forces, chief of General staff said: “This question I will leave to your reflection. We can say that all this just happened, I don’t have to tell everything”.
