Heavy weapons “republics” Donbass must be withdrawn back to Russia and not be stored on-site at the time of local elections. Otherwise Russia can get a military base under the OSCE mandate. This was stated by Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin in an interview with Left Bank.
“One of the proposals of the OSCE for the period of settlement of the situation before the election – to create on the territory of Donbass certain warehouses for military equipment, weapons, where it was kept during the election. That is, in fact, Russia will have in Ukraine, is currently occupied, military bases to temporarily minimize and maximize, nothing we can do about that! And this is under the mandate of the OSCE mission!”, – told the Minister.
Klimkin noted that now in the Donbas, hundreds of units of heavy weaponry.
“It’s tanks and armored vehicles, whatever! When the OSCE will take control of the border, just that they will not remain”, – he says.
