“Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human welfare informs about the deterioration of the epidemiological situation on cholera in the world. According to news agencies, starting in 2016, cholera is registered in 24 countries, the number of cases exceeded 69 thousand people”, — stated in the message.

The most difficult situation for cholera, according to the Ministry, there in Haiti, where since the beginning of the year, we registered more than 34 thousand patients. In second place — Tanzania (more than 13 thousand people), the third — Congo (more than 15 thousand people). In addition, in August, an outbreak of cholera in Benin, injuring about 200 people. Over the past two weeks in South Korea was the third case of cholera in people who consumed seafood. The last outbreak of cholera in this country was recorded in 2001, and then identified 137 patients.

It is noted that the situation with cholera in these countries is complicated by the lack of safe in epidemic relation to water and poor residents of basic security measures.

It is emphasized that the Ministry take the necessary measures to prevent the importation of cholera into the territory of Russia. The specialists of Rospotrebnadzor strongly recommends that Russians take into account the situation when planning trips to countries that are dangerous from the point of view of cholera.
