The only representative of Ukraine in the men’s singles Open championship of France quickly leaves the tournament.
Fourth attempt Marchenko attempted to qualify on clay majors – the second racket of Ukraine met with the Dominican Victor Estrella-Burgos, who is in the ATP ranking 87th position.
In the course of the first set Marchenko conceded 2:4, but made two breaks in a row and came to serve at the launch party. Estrella-Burgos organized a back break, then played three break points and finished off the opponent another break.
The second game was decisive tenth game. Marchenko, yielding 3:5, has managed to get back in the game, but immediately after the break, the Ukrainian lost his serve and was one step away from relegation from the tournament.
Decisive for the set itself, Marchenko started with three games lost – Ilya found the strength to equalise, but habitually failed to end the party.
