Thousands of migrants living in a camp for migrants near Calais known as “jungle”, will be distributed throughout the country. This was stated by the President of France Francois Hollande.

According to the French President, migrants will be divided into groups of 40 to 50 people for a limited period of time, from three to four months. Those who meet the criteria for the granting of asylum to stay in France, and the rest will be deported.

“There should be no camps in France,” said Hollande, adding that “the jungle” should be completely dismantled.

Camp in Calais, which Hollande will visit on Monday, has become a symbol of the crisis of migrants in France. Migrants from the camp regularly clashed with police when trying to get through the port in the UK. According to local authorities, about 7,000 people are now in the camp, compared to 4,500 in June.

As reported, Britain will build a wall at the camp for migrants in Calais. Lager in Calais is surrounded by a fence and barbed wire in order that the workers could not get to the port or the Eurotunnel terminal.
